Great Podcast on the review of IV! You guys are hilarious. Loved hearing your in depth analysis. And NO! THEY ARE NOT VAMPIRES! I agree with reviewer who said they are exactly what the book says: nephalim, the product of demons mating with humans. It just so happens that someone later turned the nephalim into the Bram Stoker myth of some undead creature that is handsome, pale and has a crazy yearning for blood.

What exactly is the point of reviewing a book if you’re going to spoil it, especially before the book even comes out.

Anon,
We released this podcast review after the book was available. It has been available for purchase online for a few weeks now. Yes, we do cover spoilers, but we give fair warning. Perhaps the word “commentary” should be used instead of “review”. We’ll consider this in the future. Our print reviews on the site are spoiler free. Thanks for your feedback!

Loved this! Thanks so much for posting it up — I did some checking, and I do believe that the castle in Immanuel’s Veins is a nod to the place where Alucard and Miranda take them in Chaos. They’re both in the “Romanian” / “Carpathian” mountains — and in both there’s the room with a stone slab if I’m not mistaken… As well as libraries abounding everywhere…
Also… just to throw it out there: I think they’re vampires.
