I’ve been a middle of the ground fan of the Jurassic Park series since the first movie. I remember going to the theater with a friend and watching the first one. At the time that it came out, it was new and amazing technology and it wowed the crowds. I didn’t feel the same way about subsequent films. I mean I watched them but found them kinda…well..meh. They weren’t really on the level of the first one and they weren’t cheesy enough to enjoy for the weirdness (Jaws 3 anyone?) but I found them okay.
Then Chris Pratt got attached to the reboot and a little glimmer of that original enjoyment came back for me. Could this become that fun ride again? Or were we just sticking Star Lord into Jurassic Park? But when it released, I admit that I really enjoyed having Pratt as our hero. He pulled it off nicely.
With each bit of news, trailer and poster release that has come along, I’ve gotten just a little more excited for the upcoming film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Today’s trailer release though, dropped it into “must see” category for my family. The suspense, the tension, the drama and the fun all seem to be there. And with a whole new twist on the storyline? This looks really hopeful.
Here is the official synopsis:
It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times. *
Oh and check out that new movie poster that dropped yesterday. THE PARK IS GONE. That tagline evokes so many thoughts – what do you think?!
