If you are a Whovian, (that would be a fan of the science fiction television program, Doctor Who, from the BBC) you have probably been hearing, reading and experiencing the upheaval in fandom for the past few months over the fact that the new Doctor is a woman. Does that matter? Let’s discuss….
Timebound shares the story of Kate Pierce-Keller, a pretty average sixteen-year old girl. She’s worried about all of the typical things that a teenage girl spends her time on; boys, clothes, school. There’s really nothing extraordinary about her. Well, until the day she realizes that her grandmother isn’t as off her rocker as Kate had imagined. It seems that a strange little piece of jewelry her grandmother always cherished is far more than just random bling. In fact, at one point that little medallion is the only thing that stops Kate from winking completely out of existence.
And thus begins the wibbliest wobbliest time travel journey and adventure since Doctor Who crossed time lines back and forth in his epic battle against Daleks and Cybermen.
In our house, we are big Winnie the Pooh fans. The new trailer and poster that just dropped for the new Disney film, Christopher Robin, garnered as many squeals and as much excitement as any Marvel or Star Wars film.
A new movie that came out yesterday (May 15th!) on iTunes, Amazon and showing in various theaters across the country via Tugg, promises fun, childhood adventure and joy to audiences. Called a “modern-day tale of hope, faith and courage based on stories from the Bible” Beyond the Sun is the first movie to ever feature a guest appearance by the Pope himself! Seriously Pope Francis is in this film!
